Bennu Gerede (b. Istanbul). Gerede studied BFA Photography at Parson’s School of Art and Design in Paris and started her photography career with an internship at Sipa Press in the same city. The first exhibition she participated in was Abidin Dino Portraits in 1994 at Galeri Nev. She worked for many fashion magazines such as Elle, Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar. She worked with various PR agencies; including Gentleman Raki Launch, Little Swimmers Huggies launch, Cafe Nero, Coca Cola The Book of Happiness projects. Gerede’s social project, photo series “Celebration of Love” about honor killings was exhibited at Antrepo Sanat Limanı in Istanbul. Bennu Gerede, who is also an actress, won the best actress award in Sochi Russia and Angers France, she appeared in two experimental short films by Hussein Chalayan. Gerede mostly works on social awareness projects in the field of photography.
